New cover!

I just got the final cover for my Samhain novella coming out on October 4. I like it a lot. It's the first in a planned trio of novellas about First Responders - this book stars a paramedic, with a cop and a fireman to follow.

Meanwhile, I'm just working away on revisions and obsessing about conference clothes. I need to find a little black dress...

  1. Nice cover, Donna! And I like the books you write for Samhain. Look forward to this one. Good luck finding that LBD.

  2. LOL, of course I love it -- that's the same couple from my Deliberate Deceptions cover which I absolutely adore. (Different pose & colors though) ;)

(Donna, if you want to make a trailer using them, I can tell you where you can find more pictures of them in other poses)

  3. Love the cover. Can't beat paramedics, firemen and cops, along with soldiers and cowboys.

What is the usual word count of a novella, or does it depend on what the publisher is looking for?

  4. Leah - will keep that in mind!

    Thanks Bev!

And Christy - it depends on what the publisher wants, but for definition it's really anything between 15 and 40,000 words. This one comes in at about 30.
